Futher studies?

I recently got to know a police officer from Security Command.
He used to be in Bartley NPCC Unit.
And he also signed on to the police force during his NS days.
Already been in the Force for 9 years now.

He said to further my studies and get a degree before entering the Force. I did thought of that, but then its really risky because I might not be able to do that. And an overseas degree is really expensive. Like x4 of the local ones. But the deal is really good. Because senior officers do get more pay and respect. I also asked about if I study and work at the same time. He said that everyone's doing the same thing and it will be tough to compete. Makes sense too.

Sigh. And now I have to re-worry all over again.
Whether to go for NS first, try to find a place in the University later.
Or immediately just sign on and secure my place in the SPF.
