Honesty is the Best Policy

If you don't have such a big head, then don't put on such a big hat. Just an english saying. Let me elaborate with some examples. Which  may or may not have happened to me, or maybe I am guilty of such.

If you're running late, and you know it, please do not lie about it by telling that person you're XXmins away but you're actually YYYmins away! Its really frustrating that people already have to wait for you. But now you lie about your ETA and people have false hopes and assumptions. That's not a very nice thing to do.

Don't make empty promises when you cannot achieve it. Which relates to the example above. It makes you look like a fool who doesn't even know your limits. If there's someone you really want to impress, then make them promises that you can deliver. Don't just say something and then "hit hit backside" (pai pai pi gu in chinese) and leave. So irressponsible.

If you're going to make a white lie, make sure you don't go overboard. And make sure its not something morally unacceptable. If you made a mistake, admit it and face the music. If you dare to even take action, then have the responsibility to accept any consequences. Don't be a pus and hide behind your mommy.

Basically, just do what you want others to do unto you.
Honesty is the best policy.
Stop lying and take off your mask!
