It allows me to see what kind of person he/she is when it comes to money. Someone can be very calculative, spend-thrift or otherwise. It may or may not speak about their character because its usually a stand alone issue. To me, when there's a need to be generous with money, I will be. I learnt this from a person whom made me feel that money is something that goes around and come around. Spending money on others like for example giving them a treat is something that makes me feel happy doing. I am not particular about who pays more or who pays less. But for some others, every cent is worth every drop of their blood.
Of course, there are instances whereby I am stingy in terms of money. For example, if someone asks me to lend them money for the sake of getting a personal want item, without a valid reason, I will outright reject him/her. When people owe me money for a reason, in significant amounts, I expect them to return it as well. Likewise, I'm not so particular if they borrow a few dollars from me.
Then again, that being said, it makes me even more vunerable to people who want to take advantage of situations like these. However, I genuinely still feel happy doing what I am now. Probably I just need to be more stringent on who I lend money to and whom I'm spending it on. But what goes around, comes around.
PS: Stop being so critical about money
PS2: Money is not everything
