Here comes Basic Military Training.
We'll be learning how to camoufladge.
Then we'll go for our live shooting range.
After which we'll go for field camp.
And then live grenade throw.
Urban operations and other fun yet more tiring stuff.
My commanders say that physical fitness is different from combat fitness. I don't exactly know what that means, but I seriously hope my combat fitness is some where capable of holding me through my NINE weeks left of the army (hopefully).
The last week went by pretty fast. I finally passed my IPPT (NAPFA test equvilent). All my stations are at least silver standard, but because of my running, I only obtained a pass. But I'm happy enough. Just hope to maintain or improve better!
New batches of recruits just enlisted recently. They look funny. And of course it brings back memories 2 months ago. That explains my post's title. I saw one familiar face. Shall not mention who. And I saw a new batch of girls too! Okay, this batch has better looking girls than the previous. HAHAHA. Two cute girls. Combat fighting fit girls.
The 3rd Generation SAF is a thinking army. Shall not elaborate too much. But I want to talk a little about our laptops issued. Okay, its not the soldier's property. Hence we are not allowed to bring it out. It enables us to learn many things on the platform in order to better prepare us for things such as how to strip our wife, I mean, rifle. It saves time for us to do other more things rather than to explain many basic stuff through demonstration. In the past, I used to think that the laptop makes us a weak army because the mentality was "how are soldiers going to use laptops to fight?". But now, I understand the rationale behind it. Self directed learning, thinking soldiers, improve our level of technology, and many more.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
