Cliques, or in my own definition: small groups of people always hanging out with each other no matter where they go or what they do. These small little groups are more often quite fun to be in. Its always nice to have companionship. Be it in school, or in an organisation. However, some of these so called cliques get too clingy with each other, too attached and too unwilling to open up and socialise with others, sometimes even ostracizing other people who do not form in their clique. Therefore, cliques can have both the white and the black sides.
Today, one of my tutor came into class and turned her tone into something very serious. She was telling the class how another of her class actually formed project groups and outcast another 3 of their classmates and they had no choice but to form an outcast group of 3 members. She mentioned that she was disgusted by the fact that students at our level are actually having such immature and childish behaviour. And I totally agree with her.
Just because a person may not like being with others does not make him weird. Neither does a person who does not behave in more normal manner make him of a lower class. A person who does not speak in the same standard or frequency as others definitely does not make him a retard. Hence, such people are usually thrown out of cliques or never in one to begin with. More often than not, cliques tend to make others around them feel uncomfortable because they do not speak the same language or do the same things.
Personally, I have to admit that I do not belong to any particular group of people in my school/course. That's because I cannot seem to be talking on the same frequency level as most of them. Sadly enough, my course has tons of cliques which are behaving as how I've mentioned above. Sometimes, they really disgust me as well. And when I do talk to people individually, they too agree that the clique issue in our course is something very serious. In order to prevent myself from being one of them, I prefer being the lone ranger.
A new semester has just begun for me. I certainly do hope that it will be a smooth sailing one to mark the final semester. However, I just realised today that the nightmare has just started. The amount of project work we are having is enough to kill us. Not yet even started on the project, just by knowing when and how we need to submit these projects, killed me already.
On a lighter note, I saw a cute girl in the lab today. She was talking to her friend across me and when I looked at her, she giggled to herself. How adorable. (This is rare, because its my first time blogging about cute girls.)
Till next time, all the best to all who are struggling in some point of their lives!
